CAROLANN B Biography
UPDATED 5th JULY 2017

Carolann was born in Denaby Main a small mining village in South Yorkshire, near her home town of ROTHERHAM, her birthday being the 29th November.
A firm favourite of country music from her early years, she learned to play a guitar, Violin and Mandolin at school and this held her in good stead when she took up singing.

Carolann's unique voice and love of Country Music soon had crowds at a local restaurant where she had started singing as a favour for a friend, asking for more. A request from a local charity for Carolann to sing on stage for the climax to their fund raising weekend launched her to local stardom and gave her the confidence to start a semi-professional career way back in 1993
Starting with only 'Word of Mouth' bookings Carolann went from strength to strength with all her venues asking her to reappear, this became on of her main stays in creating a firm circle of fans who she counts as friends who follow her from venue to venue. Two local Agencies soon took Carolann on their books. Her booking calendar then began to bloom.

Carolann went on to make her first recording during 1998 called , a reference to her humble beginnings, And Toured in the USA singing at Venues in Florida, Georgia and Tennessee including the Ryman Auditorium. In 1999 she toured several US States including North Carolina and Branson Missouri.

2007 saw one of Carolann’s Dreams come true when she opened for one of her childhood idols in September of that year  Mr. Ambassador of Country Music Himself,  The Late Great Mr. George Hamilton IV at the Brigg Pavilion, plus a tour to the USA during November / December 2007. together with Christmas and New Years eve Parties rounded off 2007 on a high note..

Carolann started off 2008 on another high note with some 180 bookings. But March and April proved a really sad time for Carolann who had to contend with Her Husband being ill and Losing her Mother whom She adored ,but because of Carolann’s professionalism even though She had to cancel over two months work, All of the Venues she was booked into immediately gave her booking either later in the year when she could fit them in or booked her back for 2009. The set back was short lived however when in July Carolann found that she had been nominated for “UK Female Country Artiste of the Year” a real Honour for this hard working woman. This together with Carolann’s new Radio Show “Ladies Night” on www.ukcountryradio.com plus time set aside for a New CD  meant another busy year

Carolann’s new Radio show gave her an added boost to bookings and Carolann’s  Entries into UKCountryRadio.com listeners club award were boosted by her airtime exposure leading to the entries being nominated  as a finalist from 2009 to 2012,  The 2012 song entered into the Listeners club award was ‘Don’t tell Me Your Not In love’ .  The song did exceptionally well as someone set up an unofficial website on ‘Reverb Nation’ that showed the song in the top 10 for the Region.

A Short break holiday in 2012, saw Carolann set up her Holiday Breaks at the hotel and these carried on with 3 very successful breaks taking place until the beginning of 2014, when Carolann’s Husband Barrie was booked  into hospital in January for a major heart operation, caused by his hereditary Kidney disease. This put a brake on the Breaks so to speak.

So then start of 2015,  In February A New Acoustic CD with Allan Watkiss as the Carolann B DUO already recorded, then later in the year the CD was mastered and

Called the ‘Acoustic Experience’

Two or three ventures including a new line dance album are in the mix for this year, and Carolann is actively looking for another hotel for Holiday breaks, as well as gearing up for March when Carol is playing at the Speed Limit Holiday in Portugal. Unbelievably it’s now over 12 month since Barrie’s heart op, his Kidney function has increased to 20% from 15% so things, fingers crossed, are really starting to look up for to the rest of 2015.

And so into 2016. 2 Years since Barrie’s op, and things are fingers crossed still progressing steadily, Still waiting for the New CD ‘Southbound Train’ that is currently being mastered.  But we have just had our first Carolann B Break at the Royal Hotel Skegness and that was a super weekend and is over 3/4 booked for 2017 - Our  venture, A  Mini Festival at the end of April which was sold out was a super success and 2017 is already planned at Shirebrook

And then our Break at the Monterey Beach Hotel in November  That Sold Out  and was another super success, so 2016 looks like being a busy year again and with bookings coming in fast & furious for 2017       I don’t think we will have a great deal of time to ourselves, but we love every minute.

2016 finished off on high spirits our 2016 Charity work for the Rotherham Young Dementia  Group grossed £1500.00 and was presented to their chairman [Photo’s on our Charity Pages]

So into 2017, We had a great  time in January for our break at  The Royal Hotel Skegness,  and a full house for our Break  in June/July at  Monterey Beach Hotel in  Lytham St Annes . And finally after all this time we have managed to finalise our Charity Money for the Northern General Hospital  and have now presented a cheque for £2,000 to Professor Ong at the Sheffield Kidney Unit Research Centre [See  Charity Page for full information ]  Once again our decision to keep cutting back to about 100 gigs each year has already been broken with 120 plus already on the books with about 3 per month coming in  for 2017  and  for 2018 we already have  over 76 gigs booked,  and over half that number booked for 2019. However as usual Carolann is always looking for New booking from Clubs she has never.

Our Holiday Breaks for November 2017 at Monterey Beach Hotel and our Break in January 2018 at The Royal Hotel Skegness,  our now full and a standby list is in operation on both these breaks and Carolann says book early for end of June 2018 and November 2018 at  Monterey Beach Hotel in  Lytham St Annes  as these breaks are over 3/4 filled from people that went last time and only a few rooms are left for each break

One of Carolann's attractions on stage is her sheer love of Country Music that comes shining through, her knowledge of the Country Scene in that she picks songs that cater for both those that wish to just listen to the music and those that wish to line dance and she manages to include in her act both New and Traditional Country that keeps all those at the venue happy. And of course a sparkling voice and personality that makes her new fans into friends.
Carolann always replies personally to fan mail and E-mail and has fans as far afield as the USA, France and Australia, her fan club address for conventional mail is:- Carolann "B", P.O. Box 254, ROTHERHAM S60 2YG, England. Tel +44 (0) 1709 370516 or Mobile +44 07956 259771 or for fast response
