27 June 2025 Over the last few weeks we have done a few gigs to see how Barrie goes on since his illness, I’m pleased to say that although he is still very weak, we are managing to cope and have had a good few gigs including our tour to Gloucester & Somerset In the middle of this month [June] We are now looking forward to our 3 week tour to Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk in July, which will confirm for us that Barrie is back on the mend. I would like to say a big thank you, to firstly, all those who have contacted us with “Get Well Wishes” and the offers of help, you really are all wonderful people., and also to all the Agents and Club promoters who have helped us to cancel and reschedule the gigs at the beginning of the year. I will give at this point a thank you and mention to Phillip and Irene our line and partner dance teachers who without there help we would have had to cancel our weekend breaks, because of them all ran smoothly, and took the pressure off myself, and allowed Barrie to just sit it out. 25 Feb 2025 Well the year set off poorly for us but Barrie managed to hang on and we ran the back to back breaks last week in January and First week in Feb, coming home on the 10th with Barrie having several appointments at the Hospital outpatients. The first was with heart specialist on Tue 12th February at 11.15am, he took one look and got Barrie admitted to ward straight away. He has been on drips and tablets for 2 weeks but is responding to treatment and came home yesterday the 24th. He has been told its going to be a long road to get back to full stabilization Anywhere from 3 to 6 months, as such I have cancelled all my gigs till the end of May 2025 when hopefully we can resume the rest of the years gigs that are booked. So its fingers crossed , look forward to Barrie getting back to full mobility and strength. I’m now taking bookings again for both 2025 and 2026 and look forward to hearing from you. Carolann B

4 Jan 2025 Happy New Year everyone, and I’m afraid we have set off 2025 with quite a bit of bad news, We had a phone call New Years Eve saying we had lost a dear friend, who had been ill but we thought would be OK, and a late evening phone call regarding Barrie health that has set us back with quite a start. We knew Barrie had been struggling for the past few weeks, but did not realise how bad things had become, problems with gall stones, leading to heart problems and new tablets effecting his kidneys. All told enough to make us start looking at the possibility that I may have to call it a day with the singing. We are discussing all the possibilities at the moment , we have numerous hospital appointment with various specialist and will have to make decisions when we know the full outcome. Meanwhile we can only apologise to people if we have to cancel gigs but health comes 1st. Luckily we had already made alternative arrangements for all the BREAKS for 2025 in case Barrie wasn’t fit enough to do them so they will be going ahead. NOT SURE YET what will happen in 2026. 5 Dec 2024 Well it’s come round to that time of the year again, where did 2024 go to. Either I’m getting older or the years are travelling faster. Well what can I say about 2024, it’s been another good year for the gigs and Breaks, but Barrie has not been so good during the last half of the year, but hopefully on the mend for 2025. Doesn’t do to bad for one of the oldest ‘Roadie’ on the circuit. So now it’s full steam ahead for 2025, we have all the tours and Carolann B breaks booked in, with most of the weekend breaks full except for the odd room here and there, main holiday with a few rooms left is Skegness in October 2025 but I expect them to fill up after we have run our back to back weekends in Jan/Feb. Meanwhile all it leaves me to do now, is wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas , and A Happy & Prosperous New Year for 2025. Hopefully I may see some of you this month at all the Christmas Parties I will be appearing at, if not take care and look after yourselves. |

1st June 2024 Just arrived home from our 3 week holiday, [1st one in 11 years] Had a great time with our friends Pat & Jeff, cruising round the Med, visiting a place I have always wanted to visit, Italy including a visit to Rome. Now back home and back to reality, A full summer of tours for festivals and gigs, We have now just about sorted all our Breaks for 2024 and 2025, the 1st one being the Savoy Hotel Skegness in October that is now full and operating a standby list, in November it’s the Monterey Beach Hotel where we have only 2 rooms left , then into 2025 where our Back to Back weekends at the Savoy Hotel Skegness are filling fast with about 5 rooms each weekend left to fill, not bad with 8 months to go, and then onto April 2025 to our weekend at Tiffany’s Blackpool that has only 2 rooms left at this point of the year. So things there are better than expected. All we need now is a summer of sunshine so I can get some fishing in the it will have been an excellent year, fingers crossed. Can’t believe nearly half the year gone, it’s been a whirlwind since Christmas 2023, have a good summer everyone,

17th March , Well we had a great time again at the Royal Hotel for our two back to back weekends, just a little disappointed, in that the hotel has decided to go to a Bed & breakfast hotel, and unfortunately the staff knew something was going off and were not quite up to their usual cheeriness, but managed to do their jobs very well. Barrie & I have really liked this hotel for all the years we have been coming, the staff and management have made us really welcome and we have been “At Home” there. But as they can no longer supply the needs of the group it is with heavy heart that we have had to cut ties and move to another Venue. Having said that, we have been made to feel welcome at our new “Home” at the SAVOY HOTEL, and we have updated the website with all the new details for 2025, so thank you to all at the Royal for you’re hard work for us over the years and thank you to Neil and his staff at the SAVOY HOTEL for making us so welcome. And the most thanks have to go to our Loyal customers and friends that are coming next year to make the Savoy another great place for our weekend breaks.

1st January 2024 Sorry I have not kept things up to date in 2023, but my only excuse is that it has been a very hectic year, Not the best but definitely not the worst, As they say, things can only get better. Firstly many thanks from Barrie & I for all the wonderful gifts and cards we have received, plus all the wonderful messages both on text and by Email, I must admit I also have started doing what I said I would not do, that is send Christmas messages via Emails, it cost us over £350 last year for stamps, and this year would have seen the bill reach £500 plus, which is ridiculous , so sorry!!! Royal Mail, but you have lost my business. I am pleased to say all our weekends went well in 2023, and we are on track to maintain the same for 2024, our 2 back to back breaks at the Royal Hotel are now full and we are onto a standby list for these two weekends. Tiffany’s booking are going well we still have about 10 to 12 rooms available for that break in April, and we are down to the last 3 rooms for Monterey Beach Hotel in November of 2024, Unfortunately our NEW break for March 2025 hasn’t come off, but we are still looking for hotels in different places that fulfil all our requirements, we’ll keep our eyes out on our travels and will keep everyone informed. [SEE WEBSITE HOLIDAY PAGE FOR FULL DETAILS] Well some big Birthdays and celebrations this year for Barrie and I, 2023 saw, me enter my 30th year on the circuit as a Country Music Entertainer, and our 10th year of running the Holiday, in 2024 it will mark Barrie’s 80th Birthday and our Ruby Wedding Anniversary, these 40 years have flown since I was a teenager, just doesn’t seem possible. So this year WE ARE going to have a holiday although like most holidays it will most likely be a working one. The Calendar is nearly full for 2024 up to the end of August, and still bookings are coming in, we have started work on our 2025 tours now and started booking our Breaks weekends in and the southern tours first so that we can work the other booking in around that, we already have nearly half our Christmas 2025 bookings in, but as Barrie will be 80 or 81 by then we are going to have to start slowing down and we have agreed to keep to a manageable 8 bookings a month for 2025 and the foreseeable future. 15th Feb 2023 Many thanks to all those that sent us Christmas and New Year wishes, It always humbles me that so many people remember Barrie & I, Well the 2 back to back weekends at the Royal Hotel really went well, we are now full for the normal February weekend and have only a few rooms left for the new January Weekend [SEE WEBSITE HOLIDAY PAGE FOR FULL DETAILS] we still have a few rooms left for Tiffany weekend in April but Nov at St Ann’s is now full and we have a standby list in operation, my thanks to all those who have rang and offered gigs for 2023 and 2024, this has now allowed us to set out our main tours for these 2 years as we have some personal big Anniversaries coming up in 2024 and we are determined to have both a holiday and celebration of these events. So looking forward to the coming year and hopefully it’s a good one for you too.

5th December 2022 Another busy year nearly behind us. I’m pleased to say that all our breaks this year went as planned, The February weekend at the Royal had a full house over 30 on our standby list and another 27 friends of people on the break wanting to come in 2023 so we now have 2 weekends back to back for Jan/Feb 2023 do now we are looking forward to that Well As I say the year has gone well and all that is left to do now is to say I hope to see many of you at the Christmas Parties that we are doing over the December Month if not then can I wish you and yours a Very Merry Christmas and a happy prosperous and healthy new year and look forward to seeing many of you in 2023

10 January 2022 My apologies to everyone who did not get a Christmas Card this year , we sent out over 400 cards, I’m going to look at the email type cards for next year as our stamp bill was astronomical, The good news is that it looks as though Covid is on the way to being contained a little and life is slowly returning to a new normal. January saw our Break at the Royal Hotel go really well, so much so that many people wanted to bring friends with them next year and we already had over 20 people on our standby list, so in 2023 we are going to run 2 weekends back to back,. The Royal do a special Monday to Friday 4 nights for £112 in 2022 but as always prices are rising and it will be £115 - to - £119 in 2023 that's still less than £30 per night for Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meal so is good value, we have had to put our price up £5 for 2023 so each weekend is £165. We have numerous new clubs to visit for the first time in 2022, and we have lost a few of our old favourites but all in all things are picking up and we are looking forward to the year ahead. So have a good one, and stay safe out there

It will be good to see some of the clubs opening back up, though I think it will be the back end of the year, and maybe even into 2022 before we get back to a full normal - I know that some of the clubs will never reopen and that is a crying shame and I also know that some of the Artists themselves have either retired or taken on jobs over the last 18 months. What I would like to do is thank all those people who take holidays and breaks with us for their understanding regarding the flexible way they have reacted to all the cancellations and transferred holidays, hopefully now the hotels have reopened we can get back on track We have now booked the hotels for 2022 breaks and updated a lot of our pages on the website, so everyone keep safe and hope fully I shall get the chance to meet some of you in person during the remainder of the year

Happy New Year everyone, the year hasn’t set off to great but at least the prospect of the Vaccine makes it look better for the late spring, we have had to cancel or postpone our January/February break and have a provisional date of the 19th to the 22nd March pencilled in at the Royal hotel if people can go on those dates. Other than that it’s just a matter of waiting till the lockdown is eased and to see what happens then with all the clubs etc. So keep well and keep safe and hope to catch you all later in 2021
